Turning the tables

During our visit to bases in Florida and Georgia with the USO, a man named Roberto sat down in front of me to get a cartoon drawn. He had strong features, had “unique” clothing (he was wearing a karate outfit), and had an old style hat on his head. A subject like that is a cartoonist’s dream since he is easy to draw.

What I did NOT expect was for him to ask for a piece of paper and pen. I handed them to him and he began to draw me! Here is his caricature:

I thought that was pretty cool until I reflected on his enthusiasm to draw me. Why not the other guys? Was it because I had strong features, “unique” clothing, and was wearing an old style hat?

Hmmm.
