I had to share this incredible piece of art. It was drawn by famed cartoonist and caricaturist Ed Steckley for the Guardian Ball being held in Boise, Idaho on December 1st. If you haven’t met Governor Butch Otter, he is the guy in the cowboy hat and the drawing is the spitting image of him (he is also a cowboy in real life). He is lassoing sixteen cartoonists who are coming to town to support the severely wounded and injured veterans in the Wyakin Warrior program.
Each of the cartoonists is offering original art – many of them have agreed to actually put the names of the winning bidders in their strips and giving the original art to them. Pretty cool.
So anyone going will get to meet the Governor, hang out with fifteen of the nation’s top cartoonists, shake hands with the magnificent Wyakin Warriors, dine with hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, and bid on all kinds of cool prizes in the silent auction. Oh, and you can dance to live music.
If you care to join the stampede, check out the website at www.wyakin.org (click on the Guardian Ball image). All proceeds go to supporting the Wyakin WArriors.
