From Brad Jones of the USS FORRESTAL Association:
7-26-07 in Virginia Beach . . .
“(My wife) and I found the time to visit the Veteran’s Memorial in Virginia Beach and were pleased to see that our USS Forrestal was represented and there was also a memorial stone for one of our fallen shipmates. So, I walked back to the car and retrieved a couple of grave marker US flags (everyone should carry them) and left them as a tribute.”
You know, with all the blather we hear on the nightly news, it is sometimes easy to forget that all around this country there are patriots who still remember what it means to serve, and still hold dear to their hearts the spirit that founded this nation. The FORRESTAL Association is one of those groups that keeps the flame burning. Their website is www.lancehatfield.com/cv59.htm.
