Dave Sutherland is an Army Colonel who retired about six years ago. He commanded the U.S. combat brigade in Diyala Province during the surge, then became an advocate for the troops and their families as a direct report to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Do you remember this cartoon? It was first published in 1990, so it’s a little dated. (Nicaragua had its first peaceful transition of government in over 50 years in 1990.
