The Commercial

I can now say, officially, that I am an actor.

As we like to say in the industry, the commercial I am in is “in the can.” I don’t know what that means, but that’s not important. What is important is that I am on film.

Technically, I am not the star. The actual stars are two of the twenty-three severely injured veterans in the Wyakin Warrior program who are accomplishing some incredible things in spite of the physical challenges they face. They are overcoming their injuries to achieve great success in their careers and in life.

I am what the general public (I am referring to you, since I am now in the elite Hollywood crowd) would call a “bit player” or “sidekick.” But again, I think we are missing the point.

I also do not necessarily look handsome on film, but neither did Slim Pickens, and he died a rich man. And the fact that I do not currently possess any acting skills and did not get paid for being in the commercial should in no way suggest that that I will not one day be a rich major motion picture star.

The commercial features the Wyakin Warrior program, and will begin airing in mid-September. Here it is.

I have been told I have a face for radio and a voice for newspaper. That can only mean one thing.

I am on my way.
