You have probably heard of Soldiers’ Angels, a volunteer-led organization focused on the morale and well-being of our troops. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of them and like I have said before, they really are angels.
You may not have heard of Valour-IT, a project run by Soldiers’ Angels to provide laptops and other high-tech gear for severely wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women. Their goal is to give the gift of communication to those who have a tough time using their limbs, or eyes, or other senses.
They set it up as a competition between the services, and if you click on the image at the top of the page you’ll be sent right to the Navy site (once you get there, look for the “Ways to give” button on the right). But in the end, the contest is a benevolent one and there are really no losers – only winners.
It is a great event run by a great organization, and runs through November 11th. Take some time to donate – a hurting Soldier, Marine, Airman, Sailor or Coastguardsman will appreciate it.
